LIFE Smart School Program
for Grades 1-4

Program Objectives

Government schools in India need right resources in terms of quality curriculum and well-trained
teachers. The program is designed to develop teachers on a day-to-day basis by using instructional
design created on our platform, which aids teachers to understand everyday curriculum objectives
and outcomes that need to be imparted to the students. Teachers will be given access to our platform which will help them listen as well as read minute-to-minute instructions for the entire day in
English. This design will help teachers conduct their classes with correct English conversational
design in alignment with the state curriculum.

Specific Objectives of this proposal

• To transform Government schools from Regional
language to English medium of teaching, as outlined in your Government’s objectives for education in your state

• Existing English medium school teachers can enhance their language skills using our program

• To completely transform the way Government teachers impart education to children by providing a structured methodology involving learning objectives and learning outcomes

Broader Objectives of our program

• To reach out to all schools in your state and introduce LIFE Curriculum Program for quality education

• To train & uplift teachers and help them reach their full potential

• To improve academic, intellectual, social and emotional development of children

• To address the different types of learners and help them in their learning process Merge Technology with Learning modules for children

Intended Beneficiaries: Direct and Indirect

Product: LIFE Smart School Curriculum Program for Teachers
(Grade 1 to Grade 4)

Methodology and Aspects of the Program

Using various teaching mediums for better understanding of the topic – Visuals & Text.

LIFE’s Instructional Matrix – our proprietary pedagogy to improve teaching structures and create mindful classroom management with progressive learning

Art & Craft

Arts and crafts provide children with a unique, fun opportunity to learn and improve their skills. When creating an
arts and crafts project, children can develop their fine
motor skills. Handling safety scissors to cut straight lines,
filling in a set section in a colouring book, even properly
drawing a circle are great ways for children to master
control of their motor skills. Doing craft work also allows for
children to expand their essential vocabulary. They’ll learn
the names of different shapes, colours, and materials.
One of the most important benefits that arts and crafts
give children is the chance for them to be creative. A
creative outlet shows your child that he or she can make
decisions and be inventive in a variety of ways. We, at LIFE,
believe that doing Art/ Craft activities gives children a
sense of achievement and allows them to take pride in
their work which builds confidence.

Natural stimulants

These will be extensively used in these activities. Mud is a wonderful art medium, it is in ample supply, can be easily moulded to create endless sculptures, and responds differently than clay or play dough. The open-ended nature of mud encourages creative thinking and allows children to freely create without fear of making mistakes

Music & Movement

In addition to being a physical activity, dancing is also a highly
social activity. Dance lessons can help children improve their
social skills and enable them to communicate better, learn
teamwork, develop a greater sense of trust and cooperation,
and make new friends.
• Movement makes individuals loosen up from all levels.
• Singing along with dancing can help children build taste and
liking towards any language.
• Creative expression with dance can set up energy and mood
to live that moment.

LSRW with Writing Enhancement block

• Listening – With narration of story and listening to drama and sounds.
• Speaking – Repeating the lines and also articulating with expressions and art.
• Reading – Expressive reading with small skits and build scenes to improvise

Teachers should be aware that the main aim of this module is to develop students’ language skills. To

Story & Expression

The stories are narrated in a neutral Indian accent.
This is followed up by a range of activities including
Expressive Reading, Miming, Conversation Practice,
and Tiny Theatre.

Overcoming Quality Teaching Material and Technology Challenges

Teachers using LIFE Curriculum Program are equipped with high-quality printed and audio content along
with teacher manuals which provide detailed session-by-session usage of these materials in the classroom. Because the pedagogy is designed around natural interactions rather than theory, it is easy for any
teacher to implement a LIFE class. Furthermore, the audio content and the very detailed teacher manuals
ensure that the quality of instruction is not compromised.

Lesson Plan with Methodology

Lesson Plan completion status in Dashboard

Each lesson plan on Lifedflix platform pertains to one week of course material to be used by Teachers in the classroom. It starts with Life Instructional Matrix explaining the various aspects of Foundational Literacy & Numeracy covered in the course material for the week. It is followed by an explanation of Lesson Objectives and Learning Outcomes covered in the week. Day wise detailed instructional steps are then provided for the teachers to follow in the classroom.

Audio options (English and Telugu) for lesson implementation

Teacher instructions within course curriculum are explained in English as well as in the regional language (in this case Telugu) to ensure regional language teachers are comfortable making the transition from Regional language to English medium.

Feedback from teachers on learning outcomes achieved in classroom

Each week’s lesson plan concludes with a Feedback form wherein Teachers document their observations of learning outcomes achieved in the classroom during the week. This feedback is sent to the Partner School management for reporting on effectiveness of course curriculum as well as to LIFE Organization coaches who use it to continuously improve upon course and lesson plan design.

Training and Support

LIFE’s Classroom can be quite different from a traditional one. LIFE Smart School Curriculum Program requires the teachers to be trained in the principles of pedagogy, use of materials, and conduct of activities in each session. The training methodology is a combination of online training workshops, chatbot and telephonic support.

LIFE supports teachers in schools implementing the programme by providing them with a Trainer and Product Specialist. A detail of the training and support process is summarized in table below: Specialist.

Training/ Support Mode Description
Training Workshop - One day Online Orientation training workshop for all teachers implementing LIFE Smart School Curriculum in schools.

- The online infrastructure and facilities for the training work shop and quarterly feedback and intervention training sessions will be arranged by the department / partner school.

- Department to ensure that all teachers implementing the program attend the workshop.

- We suggest that extra teachers are sent for this training to provide for contingencies

Teacher Empowerment through Online training workshops, online support and Additional Teacher Resources

In the current scenario, where COVID-19 outbreak has forced educational institutions to remain closed until the situation gets better, has been impacting access to the structure of learning and teaching space. Given this situation, with an objective to ensure this does not affect the children or the teachers, LIFE has come up with remote learning support systems, using technology to bridge the gap. Online platforms will be used to deliver training programs and constant support to the teachers for a smooth and successful implementation of the Programme.

Monitoring Mechanism

To ensure quality of implementation of LIFE Program, regular Monitoring is done in the implementation schools. Five Trainers and Two Product Specialists from LIFE Pvt. Ltd. will be assigned for all schools which are part of this program.
